A Cumbrian agricultural machinery firm is set to expand its sales area south into Lancashire.
Lloyd Ltd has been named large volume tractor and harvester Dealer of the Year 2022 by manufacturer New Holland.
Announced at New Holland’s dealer conference, the accolade is the most prestigious of its dealer awards and acknowledges the dedication of everyone across the Cumbrian firm in delivering the best service possible.
Managing director George Lloyd said: “Lloyd Ltd last won this award in 2015, so to win it again in 2022 after the challenges we have all had to adjust to over the past couple of years is a real reflection of how hard everyone has worked and our staff’s commitment to our customers, their colleagues and New Holland.
“This is a real team effort so well done to everyone.”
Founded in 1964 as a tractor dealership in Carlisle, Lloyd Ltd now has seven branches across northern England and southern Scotland. It has made major investment in new or extended premises in recent years.
Last year the firm was awarded an extension to its New Holland territory into the Mid and East Lothian areas and has announced a further expansion southwards down to Preston.
John Marston, dealer principal for Lloyd Ltd in Penrith, said: “Being able to promote New Holland machines into this new area is a real bonus for our branch and we are looking forward to extending our business further south.
“Our sales specialist Adam Kershaw is already active down there and we are looking to recruit new staff for sales, service and parts to develop our presence, with a view to having another premises in that area too.
“The opportunities for growth are immense and we are excited for the future.”
George Lloyd said: “New Holland is a significant part of our business and we are proud to be able to represent them and their industry leading range of machinery across a wider geographical area.
“We have many loyal customers for their tractors, combines and balers, but more recently we have increased our focus on their forage harvester and plough models, which have proved similarly popular.
“This impressive product range, backed up by New Holland’s specialist training for our engineers and parts teams, has been the foundation of our excellent partnership and we look forward to continuing to work together for decades to come.”
