Judging beef breeding cattle at the June fair held at the J36 mart by North West Auctions was Aaron Bindloss, Shap Abbey.
He chose as his champion a Limousin cross heifer and Limousin cross bull calf from NL and CJ Brown, Claughton, who also received the reserve championship rosette for a Limousin cross heifer with heifer calf.
The champion outfit sold for £2,500 and the reserve heifer with calf for £2,800, which was the top price of the day.
Bulling heifers sold to £1,220 for a Limousin cross from T and D Wright, while cows and calves saw a top price of £2,500 for Limousin with Limousin heifer calf and PD back in calf from T, L and BJ Knowles.
