Two Eden women are embarking on a 630-mile challenge to raise money for charity.
Clara Pople, 22, is a singer/songwriter from Kelleth who has just finished her studies in Manchester.
Eleanor Lowther, 19, lives near Askham and is an art student at Manchester Metropolitan University.
They plan to tackle the South West Coastal Path from Somerset to Dorset in 40 days to raise money for the Zero Gravity Fund – a social enterprise that helps talented state school students get into top universities – and the Jack Winter Legup Fund, which helps young offenders to learn skills and find work.
Jack was a friend of Clara’s and died of leukaemia in 2018.
The women said: “We are hoping to raise at least £7,000. We are nervous about blisters but for the rest we cannot wait.”
