Eden Rivers Trust has launched an auction to help celebrate its 25th anniversary.
The conservation charity was founded in 1996 to protect and improve the River Eden and its streams and other watercourses in the Eden Valley.
The online auction runs until 8,15pm on Saturday May 15 and has 120 lots, from guided walks with local experts, paddle boarding, a dinner party for 20, food and drink hampers, locally-produced knitwear, glass artwork and one-off items and experiences from ERT staff.
And for those eagerly awaiting the return of overseas travel, there’s a week for eight people in an incredible beach house in Antigua.
To round off the auction, the trust is hosting a live online auction event on May 15.
Tickets for the hour-long event cost £20 per ticket/screen.
For those who are quick off the mark, there’s an Early Bird offer of a party pack sent to your door in time for enjoying on the night.
Elizabeth Radford, Eden Rivers Trust chief executive, said: “We’re excited to launch our very first virtual auction as part of our 25th anniversary celebrations.
“Thank you to all those who have been kind enough to donate a lot and make this event possible.
“The money raised is vital; it will help us meet the long-term challenges faced by Eden’s rivers, such as climate change, pollution, population increase and lifestyles.
“Placing a bid in the online auction is an easy, fun way for people to help keep our rivers healthy for the next 25 years from the comfort of their own home.
“But importantly, it‘s also an opportunity to give back to the river … saying thank you for providing us with special places we’ve enjoyed as we’ve dealt with the challenges to our mental and physical health during the pandemic”.
