A treasured employee of the Edington Day Centre, Penrith, was given a great send-off when he retired after 31 years of service.
Max Fuchs, a senior support officer at the centre, spent more than three decades committed to running activities, as well as other duties.
A spokesman for the centre, which held a farewell garden party last Friday, said Max would always go above and beyond in his work, and said he “always did the maximum” during his time there.
Turning 64 in June, Max has recently bought a house and will spend his retirement refurbishing it as he enjoys joinery and other crafting activities, as well as spending more time with his partner Lesley.
But Max will remain a familiar face at the Edington Centre, as he plans to continue volunteering there in his free time.
