“Graffiti” has appeared on the streets of Penrith town centre, as eco-campaigners Extinction Rebellion made their presence felt in the town again this morning.
The orange stencilled logos, bearing slogans such as We’re in a jam and Preserve the planet have appeared since yesterday on town centre streets and around the central Musgrave Monument.
These messages have appeared on several occasions in the past, they are non-permanent and mostly washed away by heavy rain.
Extinction Rebellion North Lakes claimed responsibility last time this occurred in Penrith and Keswick, on that occasion as part of a national day of action by climate protestors.
