Over 50 people have hoisted 500-plus gold flags at Lowther Castle.
The flags make up Steve Messam’s OR installation at the venue.
It follows on from the success of the castle’s Ten Thousand Daffodils installation.
Launching the installation, Lowther Castle owner Jim Lowther said: “This event is all about joy, a moment of showing off on our part and an opportunity to celebrate all the creative work that has been done on the castle and gardens since we opened to the public around 10 years ago.
“Three excellent charities will benefit from the installation – James’s Place, Restore and the Lowther Church Restoration Fund – and we very much hope that the flags and their exuberance and fascinating soundscapes will bring a great deal of pleasure to our visitors over the coming days.”
OR is available to visit until May 6. Entry is free with admission to the castle.
