Penrith is one of the top 10 trending destinations on online travel review site TripAdvisor.
The company has revealed three Cumbrian hotspots in its trending destinations, based on year-on-year increases in search volumes.
While Penrith comes in at number six, Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere take the third and fourth spots, behind Portree on the Isle of Skye and Newquay in Cornwall.
The fastest-growing international destination is Soufriere in St Lucia, followed by Tulum in Mexico, and Dubai.
