Have you ever wondered if that brooch inherited from grandma, or that antique fishing rod you picked up at a jumble sale might be worth something?
Now is your chance to find out, at a free pop-up valuation event being run by the Herald in partnership with Mitchells Auctioneers and Valuers.
Mitchells’ new head of antiques, fine art and country sports James Moore, and collectibles specialist David Lomas will offer free, no obligation valuations of antiques, fine art, sporting goods, jewellery, toys and other collectibles.
No appointment is needed, simply drop in to the Herald’s office at 33 Middlegate on Monday, 4th March, from 10am to 2pm, with your items, or a photo if they are too large to carry. The appraisal will be free, in return for a donation for the Herald’s chosen charity, Eden Animal Rescue.
James said: “We’re offering free drop-in valuations at our Cockermouth saleroom during office hours and are making it easier for communities further afield to access our services too. That’s why we’re holding free pop-up valuation events all over the county.
“People can simply drop by with their items for a free, no obligation valuation and we’re particularly keen to see artworks by Cumbrian artists such as Percy Kelly, Sheila Fell or William Mitchell.”
Herald editor Emily Atherton said: “We are looking forward to welcoming readers to our office for this event and seeing what interesting or valuable items might turn up.
“The valuations are free, but we hope to be able to raise some vital funds for our chosen charity, Eden Animal Rescue.”
