Two kayakers and their dog had to be rescued by firefighters after they became stranded.
The people were kayaking in Ullswater when they found themselves unable to get off Norfolk Island due to the weather conditions yesterday, Saturday January 20, at around 11am.
Fire crews from Kendal and Penrith were called and Kendal firefighters deployed their rescue boat.
Kendal Fire Station said: “We were able to safely rescue everyone involved.
“We urge everyone who enjoys our beautiful county to always be mindful of the ever-changing weather.”
