Two Barclays banks in Eden are on a new list of branches which will close this year.
Penrith’s branch will close on Wednesday April 17, while Kirkby Stephen’s branch will close on Friday, April 12.
Elsewhere in Cumbria, the bank’s Cockermouth branch will close on January 17, next year.
In a statement on the bank’s website, Barclays says: “When deciding whether to close this branch, we looked carefully at how it’s been used and how customers are banking in other ways.
“In the meantime, we’ll be here in person until these branches close, to answer any questions you have and help you with the move from using this branch to alternative ways to bank.”
