A public inquiry this year will settle a wrangle in the national park over whether a Lake District pay and display car park should remain or be returned to fields.
The hearing, overseen by a government-appointed planning inspector, will settle the future of Waterfoot car park, at Ullswater.
The precise date and venue of the hearing remains uncertain, having originally been scheduled to take place in Kendal on 27th February.
The car park, on the west side of Dunmallard hill, is located where the A592 meets the B5230 near Waterfoot.
Since the land was turned into a car park, it has proved popular, particularly with wild swimmers, visitors and businesses.
But some organisations also objected to the temporary car park remaining.
The development has been subject to a pair of enforcement cases by planners at the Lake District National Park Authority, alleging breach of planning permission.
Landowner Ronald Richardson, of Soulby, has appealed this and will challenge the enforcement at the inquiry. The inspector will hear evidence and then adjourn for a conclusion later in the year.
