We had no information on the rogue picture so asked you to shed some light on the picture.
The mystery has been solved.
Old Hall Veterinary Centre in Appleby got in touch with us about the story of the cat.
Seamus, the cat in question, had been kicked around by a group of youths during Appleby Horse Fair and had a ruptured diaphragm.
The picture was taken after his successful surgery along with Louise Cox O’Shea the vet and Gemma Smith the nurse.
Gemma personally rehoused Seamus after the incident and they are still united to this day.
Gemma said: “I was really surprised to see myself in the paper because it was quite a while ago, Seamus is now six.
“He adapted so well to life with us. We just fell in love with him straight away. He always trusted us and knew he belonged here.”
Seamus is now fighting fit and has a personality to match, she said.
Gemma added: “He likes to get up to all sorts of mischief. He always turns up where you least expect him to.”
Since the picture was taken Gemma has married Shaun, a chef at Appleby Manor, and had a little girl called Lilly who is now two-and-a-half years old.
Gemma still works at Old Hall and Louise lives locally and works as a locum vet.
