Eden Council’s planning committee is set to consider a resubmitted application for the erection of 67 affordable homes in Penrith this week.
Atkinson Building Contractors Ltd, in association with Riverside housing association, is seeking approval for the erection of a 100 per cent affordable housing development on land at White Ox Farm, Inglewood Road.
Previously, the application was refused by the district authority’s planning committee after concerns were raised which included no education contribution being on offer and a perceived lack of connectivity with the rest of the town.
Councillors are being recommended to give their approval at Thursday’s meeting, subject to a legal agreement, which includes an education contribution of £60,000 and that a scheme detailing the routes and specifications of footpaths to link the site to the nearest existing footpaths be approved and constructed prior to the occupation of any of the houses.
