Atkinson Building Contractors has recruited three more apprentices, as part of its commitment to training and employment of local school leavers.
Jack Saggers will train as a bricklayer, Ben Vickers is undertaking a plumbing apprenticeship and Nathan Lee will start his electrical training.
Since 1991, the building firm has engaged over 70 new starter apprentices over the 30 years and more than half are still currently employed within the business.
Former apprentice Tom Barclay changed jobs in 2008, left a local bank and completed a bricklaying apprenticeship.
He is now a contracts manager for the Atkinson Homes development team, managing housing sites.
Atkinson director Barry Turner said: “2020 has been a difficult and strange year for us and many other companies, but we see a light at the end of the tunnel and project continued growth as we move towards 40 years of business.”
