Staff are being sought for the reopening of a popular Penrith pub.
Gary and Wendy Bowden, former landlords of the Agricultural Hotel, ended their lease with PFK, which owned the pub, last month after 20 years at the helm. On Thursday, family members were removing their belongings ahead of a new era which is set to be ushered in.
PFK managing director Andrew Green this week confirmed that a sale of the pub had been agreed to a local buyer who had informed them that they will continue to run the property as a public house/guest house.
“We are hoping to have legal completion in the next few weeks. We would like to express our thanks to Gary and Wendy Bowden and their family as the previous tenants who have been fantastic to work with throughout their 20-year occupation of our premises,” said Mr Green.
Paul Bowden, formerly head chef at the “Aggie”, said the new owner was due to get the keys on Friday and was looking to get a team of staff together for its reopening. He, meanwhile, was looking for a new challenge.
