A Lake District hotel has unveiled its new £600,000 terrace for al fresco dining.
Inn on the Lake at Glenridding spent four months creating the new 75 metre terrace. Existing land was excavated and transformed into the terrace, which has slate walls and intricate stonework detail, as well as a wooden pergola that frames guests’ view of Ullswater thanks to Cumbrian groundwork firm, O’Malley.
Dani Hope, director of Lake District Hotels, said: “It has been an exciting few months seeing this beautiful outdoor space spring to life and enhance the already gorgeous view that the Inn on the Lake has to offer.”
All slate was sourced from Honister Slate Mine; including over 90 tonnes of walling stone and 200 linear metres of coping stones.
Seating is available for over 90 guests, making it one of the largest outdoor terraces in the Lake District.
Gary Wilson, general manager, added: “We are so pleased with the finished result. The stunning new terrace, coupled with its breathtaking views of Ullswater and the surrounding fells, really does make the Inn on the Lake an unrivalled setting for weddings.”
