Five motorists were stopped by police for using a mobile phone while driving on the A66 near Appleby yesterday.
Eden Police said: “As part of our Vision Zero launch, ACC Blackwell and PS Stabler patrolled the A66 at Crackenthorpe today due to its hotspot status.”
In total, five vehicles were stopped between 3,30pm and 7pm for using their mobile phone while driving.
This included three HGVs and two vans.
