A motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a collision on Alston Moor.
Police were called at around 1.55pm yesterday, April 16, to a report of a collision involving a motorbike and another car on the road between Hartside and Alston.
The rider of the motorbike, a man in his late 20s, was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, with injuries to his hand.
It is understood that a second motorbike was also involved as the bike which collided with the car then went into another motorbike and rider. No serious injuries have been reported to the rider of the second motorbike, the Herald understands.
Eden Police said: “As the weather has warmed up over Easter and the nights have become lighter, our rural roads have become busier.
“Please watch out for other road users in particular Horse riders, cyclists and motorbikes. They do not have the protection of a car or truck and collisions nearly always result in injury.”
Eden Neighbourhood Police officers and colleagues from Cumbria Roads Police team will be out and about on the area’s road networks over the coming weeks engaging with road users and offering safety advice, added Eden Police.
