An animal charity which has a shop in Penrith is hosting an Easter Dogs’ Day Out Fair this Saturday.
The Oak Tree Animals’ Charity, which has a shop in Middlegate, will be welcoming both dogs and their families for a fun day out on 25th March.
An Oak Tree representative said: “The fair starts at 10am and runs until 3pm, at our site just outside Wetheral.
“The day will be full of all things dog-related, including our fun dog show starting at 1pm, where you can register on the day from 11am.
“There will also be other dog activities, like Dog Parkour, agility, Have-a-go Hoopers, and even a special dog-themed craft fair with 13 stalls.
“There will also be lots to do for humans too, with children’s crafts, games and other activities going on around our site. We will have trained members of staff available on the day to help you with any pet-related questions or problems, and some of our partnered vets will be attending too.
“Be sure to take a stroll around our Orchard Yard Sale on the day, where you will find all kinds of fantastic second-hand bargains. There is lots of affordable pet equipment (for dogs, cats and horses), homeware, clothes, toys, gifts and other goodies, too.”
The fun dog show is suitable for all breeds, ages and abilities, with registration on the day from 11am.
Classes include youthful and fabulous (for dogs under four years old); older and wiser (for dogs aged seven-plus); quickest sniffer (sniff out the treats as fast as possible); ball and spoon race (cross the line without dropping the ball).
There is also: My dog changed my life (how has your furry friend impacted your life); temptation alley (can your dog avoid the temptations); biscuit catch (who can catch a biscuit the fastest); musical sits (sit still when the music stops).
Plus prizes for best trickster (perform your best trick) and best rescue (for rescue dogs).
