Firefighters from Alston tackled a car blaze at Hartside.
Crews were called out last night to the fire.
Alston Fire and Rescue Service said: “The driver and passenger were thankfully out of the vehicle on our arrival. Car extinguished by a team of two using hose reels.
“Thanks to Lazonby station for backing us up with water supplies.”
