Family-run Penrith laundry firm marks 25th anniversary by adding new service

A family-run laundry firm is celebrating 25 years of service to the people of Penrith and the surrounding area by branching out and adding a new, green, dry cleaning service.

Tanya and Marcus Dixon opened The Coach House Laundrette in 1998 in Friargate, with a free car park situated outside for customers to drop off their laundry.

Providing a laundry for domestic washing, drying and ironing, the business also supports local hospitality businesses and now has expanded into Lagoon dry cleaning.

Tanya said: “Since we established The Coach House Laundrette 25 years ago, we have offered a full washing and ironing service for both commercial and domestic laundry — including offering ironing only services, shirts and duvet services.”

Marcus added: “We had inquiries from our customers, both domestic and owners of local bed and breakfasts, small hotels, and guest houses about dry cleaning services and we found the revolutionary Lagoon dry cleaning system which is an environmentally friendly way of dry cleaning.

“It has enabled us to provide a guilt-free way of cleaning dry clean only items.

“The Lagoon is the first eco-friendly dry cleaning system, using the latest technology to clean and press your loved garments. And this system also uses vegan products and is all biodegradable, so it does not harm the planet.

“Also we are also helping our customers to reduce their carbon footprint, as we provide the dry cleaning using the Lagoon system on site, so no need to send away your garments to be cleaned.

“Everything is done here, on site in our Friargate premises in the heart of Penrith. And doing everything here, ourselves, means we can offer an express dry cleaning service for all our customers.

“We also offer wedding dress cleaning which takes around three weeks. Again, this is done on site so no worrying about it getting lost in transit to get it cleaned.

“Expanding our services is a great way of celebrating our 25th year in business here in Penrith. We would like to thank all our customers for using our services and we look forward to serving them for many years to come.”

The Coach House Laundrette is open five days a week: Mondays and Tuesdays 9am to 12-30pm and 2pm to 4pm, Wednesdays 9am to 12-30pm and Thursdays and Fridays 9am to 12-30pm and 2pm to 6pm.
