A convicted shoplifter has been banned from entering two Penrith supermarkets for five years.
Kane Queen, 29, of Lindisfarne Street, Carlisle, has been barred from going into the town’s Booths and Sainsbury’s stores.
He is also banned from Carlisle’s Morrisons store on Kingstown Road and any store in the city part of Carlisle Shopwatch scheme.
Police secured the five year criminal behaviour order at Carlisle Magistrates Court on Monday. Kane was also given a four-week sentence for shoplifting.
Problem Solver PC Heidi Underwood, said: “This order was a great outcome and is a useful tool to place restrictions on Queen to prevent further criminality and help protect business owners and local residents.
“I would encourage anyone who witnesses the terms of such a court order being broken to contact the police immediately.
“The punishment for breaking the terms of an order can be up to five years in prison.”
