Drivers in and around Eden will have five sets of National Highways roadworks to watch out for this week.
Three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
These closures will begin over the next seven days:
- A66, from midnight, October 15 to midnight, October 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Stainmore Cafe, TM to be confirmed for crossover signs and studs.
- A66, from 10pm October 17 to 6am October 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, junction 40 to Rheged, Lane closures for railway inspections.
- M6, from 8pm October 19 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 41 to junction 42, Lane closure and exit slip road closure for surfacing.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
- A66, from 7am September 26 to 7pm October 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Stainmore Cafe to Black Riggs, TM to be confirmed.
- A66, from 8am December 17 2021 to 8pm December 16 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 40 Roundabout and northbound, main carriageway and A66 Kemplay bank TM Embargo every Friday daytime.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
