Members of Patterdale and Penrith mountain rescue teams were called out on Saturday to help a woman who slipped and injured her ankle at Brock Crags, above Hartsop.
The injured woman and her dog had been heading for Rest Dodd when the slip occurred and the alarm was raised around 1.30pm by other walkers in the area.
They stayed with her and the dog until the rescuers arrived. She was given pain relief and her ankle was stabilised with a vacuum splint before she was evacuated down the fell to the Patterdale team Land Rover.
The rescue lasted three-and-a-half hours and involved 10 Patterdale and four Penrith team members.
