Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team’s new Land Rover was brought into action on Saturday after a walker injured her ankle.
The team was called out to help the walk, who had hurt herself while descending Rest Dodd, between Ullswater and Haweswater.
The casualty and her companions had set off early that day from Hartsop for a walk around Brock Crags and the surrounding peaks. She slipped on a grassy track and injured her ankle, after which she was unable to continue.
Ten rescuers went up from Hayeswater to the scene, where the team doctor stabilised the injury with a splint.
She was then evacuated off the fell on a stretcher to the team Land Rover at the Hayeswater outflow.
A team spokesman thanked all those who had contributed towards the £85,000 appeal for the new vehicle.
