Organisers of Penrith Show said they were overwhelmed with the number of visitors.
A huge turnout of spectators enjoyed an impressive range of attractions at the sun-drenched event.
Show chairwoman Fiona Kidd said the organising committee was overwhelmed by the footfall, with great takings on the gates and a large number of tickets sold online. Visitors had come from the local area and much further afield, she added.
The livestock on show also came from a wide area, including many from Scotland, but the champion on the field came from Catterlen.
This was the Horsley family’s Holstein dairy cow Woodcatt Control Squaw. The cow was in her second lactation and predicted to produce 14,000kg of milk by its end
