Plans for 194 new homes in Penrith have been revealed by Story Homes.
The Cumbrian housebuilder wants to create the new estate, phase two of its existing development The Fairways, on land between Inglewood Road and Centurion Rise.
A spokesman said: “The site is allocated in the Eden Local Plan as part of the wider allocation for a minimum of 250 homes and is within an area of ongoing housing growth.”
It wants to build two- to five-bedroom homes, plus an allocation of affordable homes.
Senior land and planning manager Adam McNally, said: “Following the successful public consultation with local residents and Penrith Town Council, we have submitted a full planning application to Eden District Council.
“The scheme has been carefully designed to provide for an appropriate extension to the urban environment with attractive new street scenes, new walking routes and connected open spaces. We anticipate a decision towards the end of 2022, with a view to start on site in spring 2023 should our proposals be successful.
“The first phase of this site proved popular with our customers and demand for homes at our current development in Penrith, Brougham Fields, has also been very high.”
