Penrith’s Post Office is currently closed to customers after issues with the ceiling above the counter.
Customers were asked to leave the area after tiles became loose.
The rest of the shop on Angel Square remains open, with a member of staff saying the decision to shut off the Post Office section towards the rear of the premises had been taken on safety grounds.
The staff member added that attempts were being made to get somebody in to examine the ceiling and see if it could be repaired.
