New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to five Eden venues, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.
They have all been given five out of a possible five for their food hygiene – meaning their hygiene standards are very good.
The Abbey Kitchen at Midtown Stores, Main Street, Shap, The Bay Horse Inn at Winton, the New Inn at Hoff at Hoff, the Boot and Shoe Inn at Greystoke. andStitched up in Eden at 3 Waltons Yard, Market Square, Kirkby Stephen were all given five out of five by inspectors.
Ratings are a snapshot of the standards of food hygiene found at the time of inspection. It is the responsibility of the business to comply with food hygiene law at all times.
This includes:
- handling of food
- how food is stored
- how food is prepared
- cleanliness of facilities
- how food safety is managed
The food hygiene rating scheme does not provide information on:
- quality of the food
- customer service
- culinary skill
- presentation
- comfort
