Appleby is getting ready to celebrate one of the biggest events in recent history – the Queen’s platinum jubilee.
Residents are being asked to come forward with ideas or offers of help for the four-day bank holiday weekend in June.
At Wednesday’s meeting of Appleby Town Council, it was agreed a working party would be set up, led by councillor Kate Wignall.
Kate said: “Appleby residents have called for the chance to celebrate the platinum jubilee in style and in a way befitting the Queen.
“We hope to gather and celebrate through various events across the weekend.
“If anyone is wishing to assist with planning or anyone has any ideas, they can contact me via Appleby Tourism Information Office.”
