A 74-year-old woman was helped by Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team after she fell at Aira Force.
The team was asked to help by the ambulance service yesterday.
The woman, from Essex, was walking with her family and slipped and hurt her knee near the top of the falls.
Team members carried her down to the car park in a stretcher and she was taken by ambulance to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for treatment.
