An operation to clamp down on poaching in the Appleby area took place overnight.
It follows reports of poaching in a specific area which was targeted by Country Watch Eden volunteers helped by community police constables, police community support officers and special constables.
Two vehicles were checked and two men spoken to who were lamping with the permission of the landowner in the area.
”It was a good opportunity to engage with them and the landowner,” said a Country Watch Eden spokesman.
