Professional cyclist Mark Donovan popped in to see pupils at his former primary school in Penruddock after finishing ninth overall in the Tour of Britain.
“It was amazing to see Mark,” said headteacher Hazel Johnson.
“We were so thrilled he was able to pop in and talk about his achievement and journey to get there with the children — a real inspiration to us all.”
