A warning has been issued over ‘fake’ Big Issue sellers by police.
Eden Police said people should make sure anyone selling the magazine – which helps lift the homeless out of poverty by giving them an income – has an official ID badge on display.
A PCSO moved on a ‘dubious seller’ in Penrith yesterday, Saturday, November 30.
Eden Police added: “This is such an important homeless charity at this time of year and every penny counts.”
The Big Issue website lists one official vendor of its magazine in Cumbria – Artemeza, outside Marks & Spencer in the city.
