Drivers will no longer stop along a stretch of road in Pooley Bridge.
Sections of the road, known locally as Howton Road, will be under a 24-hour rural clearway order.
Cumbria County Council’s highways team have introduced the measure for 18 months to see if it is the right restriction for the road.
It said: “Vehicles are prohibited from stopping along the signed length of carriageway and verge at any time unless for reasons specified within the exemptions of the associated traffic regulation order.”
The order can be viewed here: https://bit.ly/3lR3Ugo
The restriction comes into effect on Monday, August 16.
It added: “It has been introduced under an experimental traffic regulation order for a duration of 18 months, and this will enable Cumbria Highways officers to identify if this is the correct restriction for the area, and any alterations which may be required.”
