Newton Rigg’s campus and dairy farm has not been sold, its owner has confirmed.
Rumours that the campus, near Penrith, and the nearby Sewborwens Farm had found buyers, were not true, said owner, the York-based Askham Bryan College.
It added that there had been interest in the sites.
Askham Bryan placed the Cumbrian college on the market several weeks ago to raise funds, which will be spent on its own sites at York.
It was announced on Monday that the hill farming centre at Low Beckside, Mungisdale, has been sold to the Ernest Cook Trust, which will use it for educational purposes.
An Askham Bryan spokesman said: “Askham Bryan has received interest in Sewborwens Farm and Newton Rigg campus.
“Neither of these sites have been sold. We are unable to confirm any further details at this stage.”
