Turmoil at town council

PENRITH Town Council has been hit by a fourth resignation since June and the sixth this year.

The resignation of company director Lee Quinn, who was one of the prime movers in the formation of the council less than three years ago, means just seven members remain from the original 13. He was co-opted in March to represent the vacant ward of Penrith South.

Mr. Quinn said: “In a very short time I realised this was not what the people voted for."
