Post office move consultation launched

Date: Wednesday 30th January 2019

PENRITH and the Border MP Rory Stewart voiced his opposition to the planned "relocation" of Penrith crown post office, as a six-week consultation period was launched today.

The Post Office is asking for views on its proposals to close the Crown Square site and relocate to within WHSmith.

Comments can be emailed to comments< "I am strongly against the relocation of Penrith post office to WHSmith. I am very supportive of Penrith post office and do not want to see any of its services downgraded. Post offices are vital to our local communities.

"I welcome the news of the beginning of a six-week consultation period during which I will be submitting my own response, and I would urge all of those who use the current site to do the same. I will also be expressing my concerns directly to representatives from the Post Office when I meet with them next week."
