Plan for family holiday complex on site of country house hotel

PLANS have been submitted to create a family holiday complex on the site of an historic country house hotel at Alston which could attract up to 3,000 visitors a year.

Peter and Marie Haynes, of Lovelady Shield County House Hotel, have applied to Eden Council for outline planning permission to convert properties on the site into self-contained holiday accommodation in order to promote the site as a family holiday destination in the future.
