Penrith sets a fashion first
THE first Penrith Fashion Week will take place this month, showcasing goods from the town’s independent fashion retailers along with high street brands.
The initiative, supported by Penrith Chamber of Trade and Commerce, is aimed at showcasing the shops that the town has to offer as well as encouraging people to shop locally.
As well as the established high street brands, Penrith has 11 independent fashion retailers, all with their own unique style and target markets.
A host of shops will be putting on special offers in the week commencing Monday, 22nd May, and a fashion show will be held, bringing together independent boutiques and national fashion retailers.
Funds will be raised during the week for Penrith branch of Alzheimer’s Society. “This is expected to be a great success — a truly Penrith town event, local retailers, local support, for a local charity,” said Penrith Chamber of Trade and Commerce president Heidi Marshall.
A total of 160 tickets for the fashion show on 25th May at the North Lakes Hotel, priced at £10 per head, are available in the stores taking part.
Penrith Business Improvement District is funding the event and other town business are lending their support in a variety of ways.
