Penrith man charged with rape
A PENRITH man appeared at Carlisle Magistrates' Court on Monday accused of three counts of rape.
Mark George Farrell (28), Brougham Street, entered no pleas and was remanded in custody to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 30th April. He also faces a charge of possessing the class B drug ketamine, which magistrates also directed be heard before a judge at the crown court. No plea has been made to this charge.
A 23-year-old woman reported being raped at Middlegate, Penrith, in the early hours of Easter Sunday.
