Pedestrian hit by van
A MAN in his 60s has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after he was hit by a van in Penrith this morning.
Police are appealing for information following the collision, which happened at about 6-30am at the Esso garage, Bridge Lane, Penrith.
The man was treated at the scene by two BEEP fund doctors, who performed advanced medical interventions. The man was transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, in a serious condition.
The van driver, a 66-year-old man from Wigan, was not injured.
The entrance to the forecourt is closed while police conduct investigations.
