Children in Need’s Team Rickshaw gears up for action.

THE One Show's "rickshaw challenge" is set to roll into Penrith this evening, on the latest leg of a 500-mile journey from London to Glasgow raising funds for BBC Children in Need.

The challenge has seen Matt Baker, a host of the flagship BBC program, go on the road alongside a team of fund-raising volunteers who will be attempting to pedal the epic route towing a rickshaw, while co-presenter Alex Jones will follow their every move and cheer the team on from the comfort of the live studio.

The intrepid rickshaw team is expected to be at Penrith's Market Square at around 7pm today, after covering a gruelling 59-mile leg from Morecambe, and is hoping for a good turnout of supporters and wellwishers.

Adding to the fun will be a number of cheeky elves, supplied by Penrith Chamber of Trade, who will be at locations around the town centre hoping to make an appearance on television!
