New book of World War I stories “connects us to history and to a place”

A COLOURFUL and informative book, packed full of World War I stories of a century ago, was unveiled by the Penrith Remembers group on Thursday.

Rory Stewart, MP for Penrith and the Border, who launched the collaborative collection of stories, entitled Heroism, Hardship ... and Victory, at the town’s George Hotel, said it was a very special read and “connects us to history and to a place”.
