Keswick shop ram-raid

Date: Tuesday 16th May 2017

POLICE are investigating an incident where a shop was ram-raided in Keswick and thousands of pounds worth of clothing was stolen.

At 4-45am on Sunday in Market Square, a dark coloured Citroen Picasso reversed into the shop door.

Offenders then stole RAB jackets in a variety of colours, blue and black Montane jackets, Montane long sleeve T-shirts in marine and cosmos and Berghaus T-shirts in black, grey, blue, green and red.

The vehicle is believed to have had a damaged window.

The same offender is thought to have been involved with the theft of a wooden sign, which says "Little Braithwaite half mile".

Temporary detective sergeant Grattan said: "This burglary targeted a local clothing shop and thousands of pounds worth of stock was taken. We are appealing to anyone with any information regarding this incident to please get in touch.

"We would also like to appeal to anyone who might be approached to purchase these items to decline and get in touch. Purchasing stolen goods is an offence and if an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is."

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
