Jail for knife-carrying teen

A TEENAGER caught carrying a knife in Penrith told police the town “had become a more dangerous place”.

Joshua Warner (18), Old London Road, Penrith, was one of four people stopped and searched by police on 16th January after a member of the public reported seeing a blade being brandished close to the town’s Sainsbury’s store.

Warner, who was jailed after an appearance at Carlisle Crown Court, admitted carrying the knife.
