Date: Friday 30th November 2018

FRIENDS of Janice Russell, who lost both her legs in an accident in the centre of Penrith in May, have raised £10,194 to help her make her home and garden more wheelchair friendly.

Several fundraising events have been held and many local businesses have flocked to her aid. Events have included a cycling challenge in London in October and a party and raffle at the Conservative Club, Penrith, last month.

A further £7,469 has been raised for the Great North Air Ambulance Service at Janice’s insistence, with her saying that without it she might not have survived.
