End to parking woes in sight?

NEW regulations which aim to control nuisance parking on Penrith’s Scaws estate have been given the green light by councillors.

The three-phase scheme was approved by members of Cumbria County Council’s local committee for Eden at a meeting in Penrith.

At an earlier meeting, problem parkers in the Scaws, Pategill and Carleton areas were described by Patricia Bell (Lib Dem, Penrith East) as close to causing “civil unrest” because of the “huge and mounting” frustration of residents.
