Eden Council leader runs as Tory candidate at Preston

THE leader of Eden District Council, Kevin Beaty, is running as the Conservative candidate for Preston in next month’s general election.

Mr. Beaty is one of the candidates taking on long-standing Labour MP Mark Hendrick, who has held the seat for 17 years and had a majority of 12,067 at the last election.

The Ivegill-based dairy farmer told the Herald he had made no secret of his political ambitions but remained committed to Eden.
